WE'RE EMPOWERING WOMEN
with our Career Success Series

Our Career Success Series is made up of three parts:

| WE 360: a workshop series for female entrepreneurs of color
| Own the Room: public speaking workshops for women
| Toastmasters Junior: public speaking workshops for girls

WE 360

In the spring of 2020, we launched our inaugural WE 360 program for women entrepreneurs of color to help them take their businesses to the next level... or to start one. This free, multi-week program is specifically designed to help women of color overcome barriers in entrepreneurship. Our Spring and Summer WE 360 programs sold out within a day. We're now offering our Fall WE 360 workshop series.

Own the Room

For a number of years we have hosted incredibly effective and popular public speaking workshops from the renowned Own the Room organization. A $795 value, they're offered to the Charleston-area women we serve for just $25... and they're not your typical public speaking courses! These fun, interactive weekend workshops help each woman connect with her audience and take her presentation skills to the next level. Participants banish stage fright and come away with both a higher level of executive presence that makes them more memorable and powerful body language that makes their message stronger.

Own The Room, a world-class organization whose clients have included Facebook, Google, Pandora, and ESPN, offers these workshops to just 20 of Charleston’s women at a time.

Toastmasters Junior

In the summer of 2019, local high school girls participated in our Toastmasters Junior Art Docent program. A collaboration between our Toastmasters Junior program and the Gibbes Museum of Art, we introduced them to art and public speaking in a low-stress environment where a friendly facilitator and their peers were their mentors. In June these girls began attending twice-weekly small group workshops designed to expand their knowledge of art and history while boosting their communication and leadership skills. Then they selected a work of art from the Black Refractions: Highlights of the Studio Museum in Harlem and created a tour and presentation to deliver to their family, facilitators, and peers, along with members of the public. See a few of the photos!

That program was the second in our Toastmasters Junior series for high school girls . For the first, held in autumn 2018, we collaborated with Art Pot, the first Hispanic multicultural center in South Carolina, to offer a youth leadership and public speaking program. See some of the photos!
