IMPORTANT NOTES

VIRTUAL SESSIONS | Participants who are attending our REI workshops virtually must have a computer with video and audio capabilities and be prepared to engage and be present the full two days. This is not a drop-in-and-out workshop, as leaving or joining the training late can be disruptive to the flow and sharing of information. 

GROUPS | To accommodate as many people as possible in our workshops, we try to limit group registration to five (5) people per organization. Organizations requesting more than five attendees per workshop should obtain approval from us in advance.​

​PRIVACY | We strongly value your privacy and will share your information only with the Racial Equity Institute, our data team, and our own core team. 

SCHOLARSHIPS & ATTENDING AS ALUMNI 

WHAT TO EXPECT at rei

 We are now allowing up to 5 REI alumni (previous graduates) to attend virtual Phase I and Phase II workshops on a first come, first serve basis. Available to South Carolina alumni only.

• You must name yourself as an REI alumni during registration and while in virtual session
• Your video must remain turned off during the workshop
• Do not participate (chat or otherwise) unless asked by an REI senior trainer. You are an observer only
• If you are assigned to a breakout room for small group work, please remove yourself

For those interested in attending Phase II, please note: you must have attended Phase I twice in order to attend Phase II. (You need pay only once to attend Phase I, however. Your second attendance is complimentary.) Phase II is recommended for people who are ready to commit to rolling up their sleeves and doing the work. It is slower, goes deeper, and explores the complex integration of racial identity. 

SCHOLARSHIPS

​The price for each workshop, at $400, covers our expenses, e.g. our payments to the Racial Equity Institute for their facilitators' time and their valuable content.

That said, we have a number of scholarships available, both from individual donors for anyone who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend, as well as specifically for executives and staff in the hospitality industry, thanks to a sponsorship by Glowfisch Hospitality Group, owner of Five Loaves Cafe and Sesame Burgers & Beer. Read about it here!
