Alicia Brooks discovered her passion for social justice and community empowerment at an early age.With a background deeply rooted in her church, Alicia honed her leadership skills while singing in the choir and participating in various community events aimed at empowering women. Her experiences instilled in her a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
In her current role as director of communications, Alicia brings her passion for social change to the forefront. She takes immense pride in leveraging her platform to spread awareness about important issues including racism and gender equality. Through strategic communication initiatives, Alicia strives to create a more inclusive and equitable society for future generations. Prior to joining YWCA.GC, she served as spokeswoman for Hudson Nissan and branch marketing director for CrossCountry Mortgage. A dynamic leader immersed in her hometown Charleston, SC community, Alicia is a proud alumna of the University of South Carolina Columbia, where she earned her degree in mass communications. |
