WE'RE EMPOWERING GIRLS
with our SheStrong program

SheStrong is an ongoing program for high school students who seek to engage with their communities and develop as leaders and changemakers. Our goal is to equip these young women with the tools to begin advocating for themselves.

The annual SheStrong Summit features women in community leadership roles and provides opportunities for young women of diverse backgrounds to participate together in skill-building, community service, and learning programs. Our SheStrong council also plans and hosts local events for young women throughout the year.

Our areas of focus include women in politics, intersectional feminism, and the following:

GROWTH | Increasing access to opportunities and leadership roles for young girls and women
AWARENESS | Amplifying the voices of women
DIVERSITY | Removing barriers faced by all women
SELF WORTH | Building self esteem
SKILLS | Self defense
GIRLS, JOIN US!

Salinger's "Franny and Zooey" by Sophie Levenson, a review of Michelle Obama's "Becoming" by Katie McDaniel, a poem by Clara Collins, a piece on sustainable fashion by Zoe Gregg, a "buy local" self-defense shopping list by Alexia Enright, and a SheStrong music playlist via Spotify by Estella Walsh.

SheStrong speaks at June 2020 social justice advocacy event
On June 30, 2020, two of our SheStrong co-founders and council members, Maya Green and Courtenay White, spoke at the Social Justice Racial Equity Collaborative’s “A Conversation on Youth Social Justice." As panelists and next-generation change agents, they give gave their perspective on the skills young leaders need to cultivate to effectively lead advocacy efforts that make a difference—not only for youth but for communities across the country.

How you can help

1
2
3

If you know a young woman in high school with leadership potential, tell her about us!  Any high school student who identifies as female is welcome at SheStrong. She can apply to join SheStrong here.
If you have a specialty in intersectional feminism, women in politics, diversity, community leadership or activism, or self defense, please consider serving as an expert at one of our SheStrong events! We greatly value your expertise.
Empower a young woman by sponsoring her! A $60 donation will pay for a local high school girl's participation in SheStrong for one year, helping her develop as a leader and changemaker in her community. Your donation includes her attendance of an annual summit.
