Bria Alston is the Director of Programs at YWCA Greater Charleston, where she brings nearly a decade of experience as a public school educator and a deep commitment to racial and social justice. A proud Charleston native, Bria earned her B.A. from Clemson University and her M.Ed. from Boston College. She began her professional journey as a 2016 Teach For America corps member in South Carolina, where she quickly became known for her student-centered approach and commitment to equity.
Throughout her career, Bria has balanced her work in education with advocacy and grassroots engagement, partnering with nonprofits, political campaigns, and community-based initiatives that align with her mission to advance equity and opportunity for all. A lifelong learner and collaborator, Bria is passionate about building inclusive programs that uplift marginalized voices and create meaningful impact across the Lowcountry. |
