TRANSFORMATION TABLE LOWCOUNTRY

YWCA.GC. is the inaugural community partner of international nonprofit Transformation Table, currently headquartered in Portugal.

As with Transformation Table itself, we use shared meals as a tool for social change, employing a fresh approach in new settings as a way to open hearts to new understandings.

Under our Racial Equity & Inclusion umbrella, Transformation Table Lowcountry puts on chef-level community dinners in homes and elsewhere, all designed to foster cross-cultural conversation and dialogue.

Our overall aim? To continue to eliminate racism and promote a more equitable society, where all humanity is valued and its members listen to each other with open hearts.

About Transformation Table

The mission of Transformation Table is to create space among strangers of different backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences to come together to see, hear, and understand one another — to find those little points of connection that allow us to see each other’s humanity.

Using shared meals as a tool for connection, Transformation Table supports communities to use food as a tool to combat hate and promote cross-cultural understanding, peace, and equity.
